Name: Piper
Age: CB11
Species: Pantherophis guttata guttata (Corn snake)
Morph: Motley Snow
Sex: Female
Piper came to us in May 2013 from a very inexperienced owner who had unfortunately kept her with two males and she had laid two clutches. She was suffering from dehydration, underfeeding and general stress.
We have been nursing her back to health and she is now a healthy weight and eats like a trooper. She is currently eating defrost XL or Jumbo mice once a week.
Piper is now shedding regularly and growing well. She is now shedding in full which is something we are extremely proud of as she is evidently very happy now she is fully settled in. Piper's last recorded weight was 428g a couple of days ago (18th Jan 2014)

Name: Dixie
Age: CB12
Species: Pantherophis guttata guttata (Corn snake)
Morph: Butter
Sex: Female
Dixie was purchased as a tiny little shoe-lace baby in early 2013. She is currently 66.3cm long and has recently been bumped up onto small mice from fluffs. She came from a girl who had to sell her snakes for personal reasons.
She is certainly a character and has a real love for climbing and pooping on us. She eats like a horse and her sheds are always full and perfect. She absolutely despises having a bath and is generally very funny. Dixie is extremely friendly and likes to get out and have a wander around the living room (under supervision of course). She will not be ready to breed until at least the 2014/2015 season and maybe even the year after depending on her growth rate.

Name: Beau
Age: CB12
Species: Pantherophis guttata guttata (Corn snake)
Morph: Powder het Diffused
Sex: Male
Beau has been home for a while now and is settled perfectly fine. He lives next door to Dixie in the rack and is a very friendly snake. He is extremely quick and quite a challenge to handle but we are certain he will calm down with more regular handling.
He is our foundation male and will hopefully help us to produce some stunning babies the coming seasons. He is a very beautifully marked snake and is still 'translucent' at present so its easy to spot when he is about to poop on you.
The plan was to pair Beau with Piper next year but we will have to wait to see how he grows first.

Name: Luna
Age: CB12
Species: Pituophis deppei jani (northern mexican pine snake)
Morph: Locale specific (wild type)
Sex: Female
Luna was gifted to us by our friend Al Stotton who is a UK first producer of various pituophis species and morphs. She is certainly a feisty little girl and loves to rattle her tail and hiss at you if you attempt to pick her up. She isn't a huge fan of being handled but tolerates it. She is the kind of snake you handle only when required as opposed to for fun. Deppei Jani are from Northern Mexico and are a montane species. Luna has changed from the dull brown snakeling and her adult colouring is coming through amazingly as you can see. Due to the high altitudes they live at they need to be kept at lower temperatures than the corn snakes with a hotspot maximum of 26c. Too high temperatures often lead to regurgitation problems in young pits. Luna currently eats a small mouse every 7 days.
Luna may be included in breeding plans in a few years time when we source an unrelated male.

Name: Savanna
Age: CB12
Species: Pituophis deppei jani (northern mexican pine snake)
Morph: Locale specific (wild type)
Sex: Female
Savanna was purchased from Al in June 2013. She is from a slightly earlier 2012 hatch and is therefore slightly larger than Luna. She also has much darker saddles and we think she will prove to be a slightly more 'sharp' adult as her colouration changes.
Savanna's temperament differs greatly from Luna's and she is extremely calm although she is still very fast. She has never shown any signs of nervous behaviour or aggression and has only been witnessed rattling her tail once. She has just been moved from mouse fluffs to small mice like Dixie and appears to be doing very well. The temperament difference between the two girls is really quite interesting. In a few years (much like with Luna) we are hoping to breed from Savanna. As they live at lower temperatures deppei jani tend to be much slower growers than corn snakes and therefore everything takes longer with them to mature.

Name: (Miami)
Age: CB12
Species: Pituophis catenifer annectens (San Diego gopher snake)
Morph: Extreme Red Albino
Sex: Female
Miami was purchased from our friend Al Stotton on Thursday 27th June 2013. She ate 2 mouse fluffs that evening and certainly has a character. Miami loves to hiss and rattle her tail although this is definitely all just an act. She hisses louder than anything we have ever heard but, although she will strike, has not actually attempted to bite anyone. She seems to be settling in well and lives alone on the 'top floor of the snake apartment block'. She will possibly not be bred from unless the collection of gophers grows. (that is very much a possibility).
She is certainly a character. After a winter of fasting Miami has now been dropped back down onto fluffs and she is eating two each feed. She is growing slower than the others and seems to be going to stay fairly small as a result.
